Comfort food is just minutes away….

I love easy appetizer and OMG this is perfect.

Just grab a package of refrigerated tortellini or ravioli and fry them up (in oil or brush with oil and put in an air fryer)

In minutes you’ll be enjoying a delicious appetizer!

Cast iron or an emailed cast iron pot works great as they hold the heat making it easy to keep the temperature where you want it for frying.

Be sure to have a slotted spoon so you can scoop out the items that are done.

Line a baking sheet with paper towels to drain the fried pasta.

Have the sauce ready, because after 5 minutes for them too cool, you’ll want to gobble them up!

  • To make the tortellini, I purchase fresh cheese filled tortellini in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
  • In a pan I heat an inch to an inch and a half of oil to 350 degrees,  then place the tortellini into the oil gently and fry until golden (which only takes a minute or two).
  • Remove with a metal slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

And now onto the cheese dip.

I just love appetizers that are easy to make but offer a great WOW factor.

This is that kind of appetizer. This cheese dip with the addition of balsamic vinegar gives it a delicious gourmet flavor, but is really easy to make.

Heat up this dip before you begin frying the pasta.

It’s easier to reheat the dip that it is the fried tortellini.

The Balsamic Cheese Dip is great with pretzels and bread dunked into it too and I’m thinking it might just be the perfect spread to a roast beef sandwich too. The possibilities are endless.

  1. OK, I want that barn door, farm sink and all new appliances, too! But while I’m waiting on that, please pass that cheesy dip and fried tortellini my way ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. This recipe looks fantastic, love quick and easy appetizers. Nothing better on a Sunday afternoon, a glass of wine, and an appetizer while dinner cooks.

Must ask, on your vanilla cupcakes you have 2 tsp of vanilla bean paste, not able to find it, can I substitute good vanilla or a couple of vanilla beans?

    1. You can substitute vanilla extract equal amounts for vanilla bean paste in any recipe. (if you are looking for vanilla bean paste and not able to find it near you in a baking supply store it is available online as I’ve ordered it many times as the flavor is so delicious.

  3. Making the cupcakes and appetizers this weekend. I am sure they will both be a hit with my kids and grandkids! Thank you!
