Faux Pumpkin Shake

October 15, 2010

  • 238

Looks like a PUMPKIN SHAKE,
TASTES like a PUMPKIN SHAKE,
but it’s a
FAUX PUMPKIN SHAKE!
You read it right, it’s a FAKE!

A fake shake, actually!
It tastes delicious,
 cold and creamy,
 just like a pumpkin pie.
But it’s fake….
it’s not made with pumpkin,
it’s not made with cream,
it’s not made with ice cream
but,
 it sure does taste great!

 Faux Pumpkin Shake Recipe
1/2 cup fat free milk
1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt (I use Fage fat free Greek yogurt)
1 cooked yam
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice, plus enough shake on top.
mix in a blender and serve.

I have never had a pumpkin shake, so I cannot compare, but this looks lush. Mmmmmmm 😛

Well, I think fat is really good for you, so I'd make it with whole milk and whole milk yogurt – but what catches my attention is no sweetening. Really? THAT would be seriously healthy. I have to try this!

This looks great! WHat made you use yams instead of pumpkin?

This sounds great! I love the flavor of pumpkin spices but not a fan of actually eating pumpkin for some strange reason..lol So I would really love your shake. Thanks")

I made it, and it was DEEEElicious! I think the sweet potato makes it taste more like pumpkin than pumpkin would taste, oddly enough.

I also think this would be seriously delicious mixed with softened cream cheese and then poured in a pie shell and chilled as a pumpkin cheesecake dessert.

    Thanks so much!
