Purple, Pink and White Cupcake Roses

August 3, 2011

Purple, Pink and White Cupcake Roses

I just love the look of pretty ruffled edged rose cupcakes lined up all over my kitchen.

It looks way better than the mess that usually builds up in my kitchen. Am I the only one or does everything seem to land in the kitchen. Papers, receipts, notes, junk, junk, and more junk!  I’m sure it’s all my fault. I’m sure there is a way to keep it all out of the kitchen, I just haven’t figured it out yet.

I really prefer the kitchen counters to be cleared off.  I laugh when I start baking and I have to clean up first. Clean up comes at the end, right? See I’m all backwards.

I often get in the kitchen and think of a great idea, (insert laugh here!) Start making it and realize I need to clear off the counter before it comes out of the oven.

I took a photo to show you the mess that usually lands on my island.

See it’s a MESS!

I do have a thing about white board markers though. They are great to write notes with on my tile counter top. Recipes, math problems, grocery lists, beauty supply list, yes the lists go on and on.

I have found that if I write all the lists on the counter I’m less likely to loose the paper and sometimes I just take a photo of it with my cell phone and then when I am out and about I have the list right there with me.
So I guess my mess makes sense.

{I do use permanent marker too, white board markers are just easier to clean off!}

Yes, I am beginning to believe it’s a mess for a reason.

Okay, not really.

Back to the cupcakes….

The kitchen looks much nicer with rose cupcakes lined up all over, don’t you agree?

If you like the roses, here is a video how to frost roses

These were for a party for my daughter. Four dozen regular size cupcakes and two dozen minis. No special recipe here, they were all going to be consumed by kids. It was like mass production, all done quickly and last minute it’s apparently more FUN that way…NOT 🙂

Yes they were devoured.

So my counter top is clear, but I’m sure will be messy in a few minutes! All I have are these photos and the memory of the kitchen covered in roses 🙂

Beautiful cupcakes! Love the colors – very girly! I always have to clean up the kitchen before I even start cooking. I get tired of cleaning up 2-3 times a day so I’m the clean-up-procrastinator-queen!

The colours of these cupcakes are lovely! I stay away from white boards and markers as I normally get the marker all over me and my clothes. Yes, I’m clumsy like that. Love that you write directly on your tile counter though 🙂

I never knew that you could write on tile with white board markers. What a great idea! It was nice meeting you at BlogHer, Diane.
