St. Patrick’s Day hat, a leprechaun hat

March 10, 2010

St. Patrick’s Day hat, a leprechaun hat

It looks like that sneaky leprechaun has lost his hat!

Can you guess what it is made out of?

Did you guess a cupcake?

Guess I’m not as sneaky as a that leprechaun, but I do have his hat!
This leprechaun’s hat was not difficult to make.
I took a cupcake out of the cupcake wrapper and dipped the entire cupcake into green candy melts, that had been heated throughly. Then placed the cupcake upside down to dry. I trimmed it with chocolate buttercream frosting and the yellow buckle is white buttercream tinted gold.

How cute is this?? I love it ~ I would love to do it as a truffle.
I told you that I had made pots of gold that I was going to post, well, I made them out of truffles and I decided not to post them because the more I looked at them, the more they looked like stuffed peppers and not pots of gold!
