There is NOTHING better on a hot summer day than an ice-cold glass of lemonade,
on other days maybe life has handed you lemons, maybe you picked some lemons off of trees and want something fun to make, no matter the reason, grab some lemons and make some delicious LEMONADE!

Fresh lemonade reminds me of going to the boardwalk and lemonade stands on a hot summer day
mmm…
ice-cold lemonade
can even make a cold winter day bright,
especially when you have fresh lemons.

I make two quarts of lemonade from three of four Meyer lemons (all lemons give a different amount of juice, especially if they are ripe or not quite as ripe)
it does depend on how juicy they are,
these were very juicy so three is all I needed.
slice them in half then begin juicing
you can use a handheld juicer,
or a press style juicer
or whichever you have there are so many types
then, in a pitcher
add 1/3 cup sugar
and dissolve with
2/3 cup warm tap water (alternative you can boil the sugar and water for a smooth syrup to mix into the lemonade)
it only takes a minute to stir and it will dissolve then add the lemon juice and fill with cold water stir and serve I rimmed the glass with a slice of lemon and dipped it in sugar-filled the glass with plenty of ice and poured the lemonade in gave it a stir.
You can make lemonade with lemon syrup as well, click here for that recipe.

NOW onto the LEMONADE COCKTAILS!
Add in a shot of vodka, bourbon, fizz it up with some seltzer, add in some fruit and make it a new favorite drink!
And this fun Strawberry Basil Lemon Smash (photo above)
Any day can be a… SUNSHINE DAY!

So, the trick is to add warm water to dissolve the sugar and THEN chill. Duh.

You know I was talking about myself in my comment, right? I never thought to use warm water to dissolve the sugar.
