Chocolate Cupcake and Cream Cheese Frosting Recipes

Perfect Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese frosting, oh it sure is a FAVORITE around here.
Having a chocolate cupcake recipe is a MUST in your recipe box. Also cream cheese frosting is good on just about ANYTHING. It’s smooth and creamy and I love it on Carrot Cake and Red Velvet Cake and well just about everything deserves this delicious frosting!
Chocolate Cupcake Recipe
 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2¾ cups sifted flour
  • 2teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ t. teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2½ cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl combine cocoa and water mixing with a whisk until smooth. Cool completely. Sift flour with baking soda, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Beat on high butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla 5 minutes.
  4. On low blend in flour mixture and cocoa mixture
  5. Do Not Overbeat
  6. bake approx 12 to 15 minutes
Cream Cheese Frosting
 
Ingredients
  • 4 oz. package cream cheese
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • (this recipe can easily be doubled)
Instructions
  1. Beat all together until smooth and creamy.
 
Place sprinkles on top of icing and for the cute little rose, I rolled some red fondant and placed it on top. Here is a post on how to make fondant out of marshmallow.
