Heart Shaped Pancakes

These don’t look like ordinary pancakes, but they taste like them. They are just a little more fun.
Pancake Recipe

2 cups flour

⅓ cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ Tablespoons. baking powder
1 egg
2 cups milk
2 Tablespoons butter (room temp)
2 teaspoons vanilla
simple pancake ingredients can easily turn into a fun Valentine breakfast.
To make these red for Valentine’s day I added Americolor Super Red coloring.Mix all dry ingredients Mix all dry ingredients together, then add egg, milk, butter, and vanilla. Whisk until all Incorporated.

Place batter in a heart shape form, I used silicone forms. 
Heat your frying pan to medium and pour the batter on a lightly greased pan, I waited until it’s cooked about 3/4 the way through then I turned and flipped it out onto the griddle. It only took a moment to finish them off.


It also worked with a metal cookie cutter and I used a clip to grab the edge. Who knew cookie cutters would make an easy pancake mold. I did grease the cookie cutter to be sure the batter would not stick. I recently posted other uses for cookie cutters you may like too. Any pancake ring will work if you have other shapes too. 

Another great cookie cutter use was for thesepie tarts were really delicious.
