Happy Valentine's Day {gingerbread Valentine's}

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, beat shortening with, add sugar, baking powder, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves. Beat until combined. Beat in the molasses, egg, and vinegar until combined. Mix in flour. Divide dough in half. Cover and chill for 3 hours or until easy to handle.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll dough.
  • Bake in a 375 degree for 5 to 6 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.
