there is no substitute, real buttermilk will make the recipe to liquidy for the amount you&#039;d need to equal the tanginess of the dry. It&#039;s readily available in the baking aisle of grocery stores and Walmart. If you don&#039;t want to use it, the finished result just won&#039;t have the tanginess of red velvet, but the recipe would taste fine.]]></description>
