My first thought is turkey bacon. If that does not appeal to you, yes, dried apricots would be nice, and yes, add something salty, any salted nut, and lastly, potato chips, they give a really great flavor to cookies. It might sound unusual, but they work!

They loved them!! They tasted amazing! Chewy, but not sticky. I will prob add more bacon next time, but you can definitely get the sweet/salty vibe in these cookies. There isn’t a strong maple flavor (although you can tell it’s in there) so maybe you can up the amount a little if you want it more prominent? Keeper! Next time I might make a bourbon glaze to drizzle over them if I’m not packing them for a trip.
