fresh beets give a beautiful color, the color of the liquid in canned beets has been overcooked and is not bright in color, which is why it was orange. It’s been said that older eggs peel better than fresher eggs. It’s hard to say why some are harder to peel than others. I most often cook my hard-boiled eggs in an instant pot for 5 minutes, with 1 cup of water (allow the pressure to naturally lower for 2 minutes then I release any remaining pressure) and they all peel beautifully!

I used sliced canned beets and my eggs turned out orange, not pink. I didn’t think it would make a difference?
I also used two brands of eggs. One was easy to peel, the other not easy to peel. I don’t know why the difference when they were prepared the same?
