Love everything about these cookies and they truly do taste like apple pie! Make sure to let the bottoms caramelize…amazing!

The turbinado sugar is for rolling the cookie dough in, before baking. It caramelizes nicely and gives a great flavor and texture as well.

Can these cookies be frozen for later use? I make dozens of Christmas cookies and need to freeze for a few weeks until I make up my boxes for gfts.

Excellent recipe! And I didn’t even bother with the icing. Just dropped 3 of them into a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
