Chocolate Chocolate Chip Scones

If you read my post yesterday you may remember that I was dreaming of scones.
As soon as I had a free moment today I realized I had no blueberries in sight, someone had eaten them all.
I did however have plenty of chocolate!
Chocolate chocolate chip scones drizzled with chocolate,
Every morsel was chocolaty.
Since scones are more like biscuits, less like cake.
I do believe it will be okay to eat these with your morning coffee or tea.
Really, trust me on this.
When you eat chocolate for breakfast there are no calories,
I’m just kidding.
These do have a touch of cinnamon and it’s been told cinnamon is a breakfast seasoning.
 With all day to burn off the calories, there are advantages to eating sweets early in the day.
 I had one of these hot out of the oven just a few minutes ago.
 Snapped this photo and now have to do the dishes.
 I just had to share them with you first.
Cleaning up can wait. I’m sure you will agree.
I’m looking forward to enjoying one of these for breakfast, but shhh…don’t tell.
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Scones
3 cups flour
1/3 cups sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cups butter
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 cup butter milk (or substitute with one cup milk 1 T vinegar)
6 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 egg white
Mix flour, sugar, baking soda and baking powder.
 Cut in butter then add cinnamon and cocoa.
Then add in buttermilk and chocolate chips.
Brush tops with egg white.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Drizzle with melted chocolate after they have cooled.

    could you possibly create a toffee chip scone and/or a butterscotch scone. i need a good scone recipe for both of those and i trust your “scone skills” most LOL
